James Newton

James Newton, 64, of Medina, passed away on November 21, 2021 after a long battle with esophageal cancer.

He was born on August 30, 1957 in Medina, a twin son to the late Richard F. and Carol (Giambatista) Newton, Sr. Jim worked in property maintenance for years. He was a member of the East Shelby Volunteer Fire Co. for 15 years.

In addition to his parents, Jim was predeceased by a sister, Toni Dunn and a brother, Richard F. Newton, Jr.

Survivors include his two sons, James Newton, Jr. and Jeremy (Lisa) Newton; grandchildren, Gabe, Leah, Lilly, Ben and Gavin Newton; twin brother, Joseph (Elaine) Newton; stepbrother, Darryl Schultz; stepsister, Gerri Schultz; brother in-law, James Dunn; sister in-law, Dawn Newton; several nieces and nephews.

A memorial luncheon will be held Friday, Nov. 26 at 12:00pm at the East Shelby Fire Hall, 5021 E. Shelby Rd., Medina, NY 14103. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Knights-Kaderli Memorial Fund, PO Box 684, Medina, NY 14103 or to the East Shelby Volunteer Fire Co. at the address above. Arrangements are in the care of Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina.
