Alice A. Carder

Alice A. Carder, age 83 of Medina, beloved, wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 21, 2023.

Born August 28, 1940 in North Java, NY, she was a daughter of the late Wilfred and Frances (Conrad) Kibler. She graduated from Arcade High School in 1959. On May 7, 1960 she married William T. Carder, Sr. The couple lived in East Aurora, raising a family of three children. In 1970 they moved to Medina with the opening of Fisher-Price Toys. Early on, Mrs. Carder worked picking apples and also waitressed at the Apple Grove Inn. She then worked for Fisher-Price Toys for many years. Mrs. Carder was a longtime member of Calvary Tabernacle Assembly of God Church in Medina, where she was very active in various church groups. Alice enjoyed spending time with her loving family, especially her granddaughters and great-granddaughters.

Mrs. Carder was predeceased by her beloved husband, William T. Carder, Sr. in 1994; and four siblings, John Kibler, Kay Allen, Margaret Bleyle and Mary Fancher.

Left to cherish her memory are her three children, Loretta (Timothy) Bensley, William T. Carder, Jr. both of Medina and Shannon (Melanie) Carder of Niagara Falls; two granddaughters, Ellysa Carder Johnstone and Destinee Bensley (fiancé, Matthew Kerr); great-granddaughters, Mariah and Lillian Johnstone; sister in-law, Jane Kibler; and several nieces and nephews.  

Calling hours will be held on Monday, Nov. 27 from 10AM-12:30PM at Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina. Her funeral service will immediately follow at 12:30PM and interment will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
