Christina G. Short, of Medina, NY, entered into rest peacefully on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at the Medina Memorial Hospital.
Born September 22, 1940 in Utica, she was a daughter of the late E. Brayton and Eunice R. (Renton) Huguenin. Chris had an extensive career as a Registered Nurse for over 30 years. She worked at Medina Memorial Hospital for 25 years, was a cardiac rehab nurse in Rochester for 3 years and lastly worked at The Willows in Medina for 5 years. She retired in 2002. Chris also gave of her time volunteering with the Twigs Association at Medina Memorial and served on the Advisory Council at the Orleans County Office for the Aging. She also volunteered with the American Red Cross and the American Heart Association. Chris enjoyed quilting, pottery and loved birdwatching. She also enjoyed attending flower and craft shows.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, R. Gary Short in 1981; and her sister, Claudia (Clifford) Charbonneau.
Left to cherish her memory is her son, Dale (Gloria) Short; grandchildren, Raymond (Lisa) Hinman, Annie (Mike) Winder and Matthew (Michelle) Hinman; six great-grandchildren; a niece, Lisa Clark and nephew, Mark (Vicki) Charbonneau; great-nieces and nephews, Cory, Tegan and Trevor; and several cousins.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, July 1 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM with her memorial service to immediately follow at 12:00 PM at Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina. Private interment will be in West Ridgeway Cemetery.
