David Coe Burkhart

Gasport: David Coe Burkhart, age 88, passed away March 9, 2026 at St. John’s Home in Rochester. He was born May 14, 1937 in Lockport to the late Roy and Florence (Coe) Burkhart. 

David worked at FMC for over 34 years as an Analytical Chemist. He married the love of his life, Suzanne Schilling, on August 6, 1960 at Zion Lutheran Church. 

David was predeceased by Suzanne in 2015. 

David is survived by his daughter Tamara (Brian) Mochrie, grandsons Kyle (fiancé Katherine) and Devin Mochrie.He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Gasport, NY. He was an avid Buffalo Bills fan, loved fishing, and telling everyone how he got the nickname of ‘Mother’.

There are no prior calling hours. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at Zion Lutheran Church 4447 Central Ave. Gasport, NY 14067 on April 11 at 10 AM. Interment to follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
