Donna M. Schickler

Donna M. van den Bosch-Schickler, age 77 of Medina, NY passed away on June 10, 2026.

Born in Lockport on April 10, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Cornelius “Corky” and Amelia (Ventura) van den Bosch. She graduated from Medina High School, Class of 1967. Donna went on to graduate from beauty school, earning her license in cosmetology. For many years, Donna owned and operated her own salon, Style Ahead in Middleport. Throughout her career, she also worked at other salons, most recently Salon De Coiffeur in Medina. Donna was grateful to have had so many great clients over the years, especially her elderly clients, and grew to become good friends with many of them.

Donna loved fashion and enjoyed going shopping. She was also an avid reader. Donna had many beloved dogs throughout the years, all whom she cherished. A caring and thoughtful person, Donna will be remembered for her willingness to help others. This was evident in the loving care she gave her mother, Amelia, in her final years.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Jeffrey in 1998 and Dennis in 2010; as well as her brother-in-law, John Waldriff, Jr. in 2015.

Donna is survived by her sons, Todd Stornelli (Dawne Emmens) and Mark (Jennifer) Stornelli; sister, Angela Waldriff; grandchildren, Trey (Ashleigh) Stornelli, Brittany Stornelli, Troy Stornelli and Travis Stornelli; great-grandchild, Elliana Stornelli and Iziah Rodriquez; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, June 19 from 4:00-7:00 PM at Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina. Donna’s funeral service will be held at the funeral home the following day, Saturday, June 20 at 11:00 AM. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery at a later date.
