Dorothy English

Dorothy H. English, age 79, of Newfane, NY entered into rest on Tuesday, September 25, 2025 at the Niagara Hospice House in Lockport.

Born August 17, 1946 in Lackawanna, she was a daughter of the late Stephen and Stephanna (Szewczyk) Niziol. She was a graduate of Buffalo State College with a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work. For many years, she worked at skilled nursing facilities, advocating for the most vulnerable. While working, she also balanced taking care of her two children. She loved everything about being a mother.

Though health challenges led to an early retirement, she found new purpose in caring for her granddaughter and nurturing her family. Dot's passion for creating joyful memories shone brightest during holidays, especially Christmas. Her life was rooted in her faith and family, and she will be deeply missed for her humor, generosity, and loving heart.

Left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband, Lonnie B. English of Newfane; two children, Catherine (Patrick) Feldman of Batavia and David (Stacy) Stephens of Clarence; three grandchildren, Amanda (Robert) Dix of Medina, and Declan and Zoe Stephens of Clarence; and six great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Faith, Zachary, Christopher, Kolbe and Caleb Dix.

Funeral services will be privately held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, East Pembroke.
