Frank M. Ferri, age 66, of Medina, NY, passed away unexpectedly on June 30, 2026.
Born February 8, 1960 in Medina, he was a son of the late Michael T. Ferri, Sr. and Elizabeth A. (Stawicki) Ferri. Frank was a graduate of Medina High School, Class of 1975. He grew up working in his family’s grocery store, Ferri’s Supermarket and later, Bells IGA. Never one to sit idle, he also helped operate Mic-Jac Home Improvement Center, Maple Ridge Florist and ran Angelina’s Catering.
Frank married his wife, Angela (Mruczek) on December 4, 1987. He went on to further his education, earning a master’s degree in education from Nazareth College. Frank was a longtime public-school teacher for the Batavia City School District, just recently retiring in 2023. He touched the lives of every student who had the privilege of being taught by “Mr. Ferri”. He loved each and every student as if they were his own.
Frank was a man of many talents. He loved to cook (especially his famous spaghetti sauce). He enjoyed gardening, antiquing and had the unique ability to recreate just about anything he saw or figure out how to fix anything that was broken. He recently began to teach his grandsons how to start and take care of a vegetable garden for the summer. Frank was an avid animal lover, and his daughter has many fond memories of adventures rescuing animals together, cats, dogs, rabbits and birds alike, much to the dismay of his wife.
Frank was a devoted father to his daughter, Gabriella, ensuring that even her craziest ideas came to fruition. He was the most loving “Papa” to his grandbabies and loving husband to his wife, who he affectionately called “Angeline”. Frank will be greatly missed, but his memory will live on through his creations, the impact he had on others and the love he had for his family.
In addition to his parents, Frank was predeceased by a brother, Michael T. Ferri, Jr. in 2004.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Angela Ferri; daughter, Gabriella (Joseph) Pawlak; three grandsons, Michael, Julian and Noah, who were his pride and joy; brother, David Ferri; as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family members who he loved dearly.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, July 5 from 4:00-7:00 PM at Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina. His funeral service will be held on Monday, July 6 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home, followed by interment in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Memorial donations are greatly appreciated to his family to go towards his grandsons’ educations.
