Gary G. Williams

Gary G. Williams, 73, of Medina, passed away on Friday, November 11, 2022 at the United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia.

Born January 29, 1949 in Buffalo, he was the son of the late George W. and Dorothy E. (Nudd) Williams. Gary was a graduate of Medina High School, class of 1968. He married the former Jeanette Thomkins in 1972. Early on Gary worked for White Bros. Nursery in Medina. He went on to work as a custodian at the Lyndonville Central School District for 27 years. Following in his father’s footsteps, Gary was a lifelong volunteer fireman. He was a proud and devoted member of the Shelby Volunteer Fire Company, where he served as President, Vice-President and as Trustee. Gary enjoyed collecting, especially John Deere. Above all Gary loved his family, whom will miss him dearly.

Gary was predeceased by his wife, Jeanette Williams in 1997; and two brothers, Thomas and Leslie Williams.

Left to cherish his memory are his significant other, Chris Sobczak of Lancaster; daughter, Vicki (Marcus) Guy of Syracuse; loving sister, Beverly (Todd) Wilcox of Medina; grandson, Brady Guy; niece, Diane Kephart; nephew, Bill McAdoo; and great-nieces and nephew, Johanna, Alexis and William.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, Nov. 14 from 5-8PM at Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina. His funeral service will be held on Tuesday Nov. 15 at 11AM at the Shelby Vol. Fire Hall, 4695 S. Gravel Rd., Medina. Interment will be in Boxwood Cemetery.
