George W. “Bill” Parry, Jr., of Medina, NY, and Palm Bay, FL, entered into rest on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at Strong Memorial Hospital, at the age of 83. Born on September 26, 1942, in Batavia, he was the son of the late George W. Parry, Sr., and Lorraine (Keizer) Parry.
Bill was a proud graduate of Notre Dame High School and earned his bachelor’s degree in education from SUNY Geneseo. He began his career teaching mathematics in the Albion Central School District before pursuing further education at SUNY Brockport, where he earned his master’s degree in School Administration. Bill went on to serve as the Middle School Principal of Wise Junior High School in the Medina Central School District. Following his career in education, he worked as a probation officer with the Orleans County Probation Department until retiring in 1998.
In 1993, Bill went on a blind date at a summer picnic where he met the love of his life, Joanne Clark. They spent many joy-filled years together between their homes in New York and Palm Bay, Florida. The couple married in July 2009 and eventually made Florida their full-time home. Bill cherished his time making new friends and reconnecting with extended family in the area. He will be remembered for his warm smile, infectious laugh, and larger-than-life personality. Bill had a remarkable gift for turning strangers into friends.
In June 2024, Bill and Joanne returned to New York to be closer to family as his health declined. Bill had a deep and lifelong devotion to the University of Notre Dame and the St. Louis Cardinals. He was a proud supporter of the Medina Marching Band and had a great love for music, especially Elvis, Liberace, and Sha Na Na. He also found joy in gardening and took great pride in his summer Moon Flowers.
In addition to his parents, Bill was predeceased by his beloved wife, Joanne, on January 22, 2025, and his sister, Sharon Parry, in 1975.
Bill is survived by his daughters Julie (Dan) Caleb of Lyndonville, Kathleen Agnello of Alfred, and Stephanie (Chris) Weddell of Virginia; grandchildren Marie (Dennis) Phillips, Faith (Tyler) Acton, Emily and Anna Agnello, and Hayden and Addison Weddell; three great-grandchildren; his brother Patrick (Karen) Parry of Williamsville; and nieces and nephews, including Stephen Parry and Roxane (Paul) Mann.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and friendship that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him and loved him.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date, and interment will be in Boxwood Cemetery, Medina. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Strong Memorial Hospital or to the Alzheimer's Association of WNY. Arrangements are in the care of Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina.
