James A. Hall

James A. “Jim” Hall, lovingly known by many as Dad, Hun, Papa, Buzz, Uncle J-Bird, and Mr. Hall, passed away following a long illness on Wednesday, June 11, 2025. Jim was born March 3, 1961.

He was predeceased by his father, Donald Hall. He is survived by his loving mother, Mary (Fletcher) Hall; his devoted wife of 34 years, Lisa (Albone) Hall; his children, Travis Hall and Kelsey (Ryan) Hewitt; his brothers, Jeff (Jakie Andrews) Hall and David (Lori Riddle) Hall; and his granddaughters, Gracelynn and Adaline Hewitt. Jim also leaves behind an extended family, including 19 brothers and sisters-in-law, over 40 nieces and nephews, and over 40 great-nieces and nephews, Truly a small village that he loved and was proud to be a part of.

Jim was a pillar of strength, a man of loyalty, hard work, and an unwavering love for his family and friends. He lived a life defined by the core values he not only believed in, but passed down through generations - loyalty, independence, responsibility, and grit. He showed up without fail to every call for help. Whether it was building something from scratch or fixing what seemed unfixable, there wasn’t much he couldn’t do.

Professionally and personally, Jim was always first in line to help others. He was a dedicated worker for National Grid (Niagara Mohawk) for over 30 years, helping those in need, retiring at the age of 58. Whether it was braving storms in the middle of the night, traveling out of state to assist after natural disasters, or climbing power lines in freezing conditions, he never hesitated to answer the call for help. His dedication extended far beyond the job to neighbors, friends, and family, offering time and energy wherever it was needed. He taught his children the meaning of hard work, and the humor in tough love.

He had a deep love for the outdoors and found joy and peace in hunting, fishing, and camping; passions he shared with those closest to him. These moments in nature were more than hobbies; they were a way for him to connect, reflect, and create lasting memories with family and friends.

One of the greatest joys of Jim’s life was spending time with his two granddaughters, Gracelynn (7) & Adaline (3). He formed a close and loving bond with them, always showing up with patience, laughter, and that special “Papa” kind of love. The connection he had with them was deep and enduring — a true highlight of his later years.

Jim had a gift for making people smile, whether it was with his cheesy dance moves, corny jokes, or perfectly timed one-liners. Time and again, he proved himself to be a devoted family man. He leaves behind a lasting legacy of love, laughter, and generosity.

An hour of visitation will be held on Friday, June 20 from 4-5PM, immediately followed by a memorial service at 5PM at the New Hope Community Church (First Baptist Church), 203 W. Center St., Medina. Arrangements are in the care of Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina.
