James E. "Jay" Richards, Jr.

James E. “Jay” Richards, Jr., age 41, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 20, 2023 at his residence.

Jay was born October 1, 1981 in Medina, a son of James E. Richards, Sr. and the late Vicky L. (Wenner) Richards.  He worked for many years in construction as a pipe fitter, lastly in Kentucky. He enjoyed spending time with his children and will be missed by his loving family.

Predeceased by his mother, Vicky Richards; grandparents, Vivon Wenner and Lettie Wenner and Ruth Richards; and cousin, Brian Wenner.

Survivors include his children, Elijah Norris, Myles Richards and Shyann Richards; father, James E. Richards, Sr.; sister, Nikki Clanton both of Alabama; brother, Ryan (Colleen) Richards of Medina and Christopher Richards of Alabama; grandfather, Carl Richards; nephews, Steven and Jayce Clanton and Carter Richards; and uncle, Eric Richards.

Services will be privately held by the family. Arrangements are in the care of Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina.
