Karl W. Moden

Karl W. Moden, 81, of Medina, NY entered into rest on Tuesday, September 16, 2025.

Born November 16, 1943 in Lockport, he was a son of the late Walter and Florence (Giertz) Moden. Karl was a graduate of Medina High School, Class of 1961. He was self-employed as an owner/operator truck driver of Karl Moden Trucking for many years. Karl lived his whole life on his family farm on Fruit Avenue in Medina. Outside of trucking, whether it was mowing, excavating, clearing brush, Karl took great pride in maintaining his beautiful property, which is a favorite spot for wedding and prom photography. Karl thoroughly enjoyed his daily “coffee meetings” with his farming friends on Fruit Avenue. He was also an avid fan of the Buffalo Bills. Karl will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Predeceased by his parents; brothers, George (Edie) Moden, Jay Moden, Wayne Moden and Paul Moden; and brothers in-law, Stanley Gillmeister and Larry Farrow.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Susan Moden; three children, Darryl (Charles Hidy) Moden, Cheryl Damico and Michele (Craig) Schrader; stepson, Stacy (Becki) Spears; grandchildren, Tasha Damico, Deelia Damico, Alysha (Ignacio) Silvas, Janene (Rey) Naveja, James (Shivani) Damico III and Michael (Cierra) Mesler; siblings, Janice Gillmeister, Sharon Farrow, Beverly Nudd and Scott (Roxanne) Moden; also several nieces and nephews.

Please join the family at a celebration of Karl’s life that will be held on Sunday, Sept. 21 from 1-4PM at the family home, 3804 Fruit Ave., Medina.
