Olga Fava Dean, age 92, formerly of Oakfield passed away peacefully at The Villages of Orleans Health & Rehab Center in Albion joining her granddaughter, Marcy Mruczek in Heaven.
Born November 10, 1927 in Batavia, Olga was a daughter of the late Guglielmo and Antonietta (Minello) Fava. She raised a family of seven children. Olga worked for many years at Fisher-Price Toys in Medina, where she made many close friends. Olga was a parishioner of the former Sacred Heart of Jesus R.C. Church in Medina. She enjoyed playing Bingo and was a constant prize winner. An amazing cook, Olga will be remembered for her amazing lasagna and tasty fruit pies. Her sweet smile, jokes and maternal love will be affectionately remembered by her loved ones. A biography could not possibly tell all of her tales and travel trips that she so enjoyed.
Survivors include her seven children, Donna Dean (Arthur M.D.) Mruczek of Batavia; Paul Dean of Venice, Florida; Diane Muzychenko of Cleveland, Ohio; Jerry (Carolyn) Dean of Morristown, Tennessee; Denise (Christopher) Melcher of Elizabethtown, Kentucky; David (Mayo) Dean of Jacksonville, Florida; and Matthew Dean of Jacksonville, Florida; twenty-one grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; sister in-law, Anna Fava; and grandson in-law, Patrick Basior.
She was predeceased by her granddaughter, Marcy (Mruczek) Basior in 2010; husband, Donald L. Dean in 2004; and brothers, Gino Fava and Edwin Fava.
Service Announcement: Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 31 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Maximilian Kolbe R.C. Church, 8656 Church Street, East Pembroke, NY 14056. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Batavia. A reception will follow at the Caryville Inn, 25 Main St, Oakfield, NY 14125. The family would appreciate any donations in Olga’s memory be made to the Orleans County Office for the Aging- 14016 Rt. 31 West, Albion, NY 14411. Arrangements are in the care of Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina.
