Reta M. Potrubacz (Née Levanduski), of Medina, NY entered into rest on Thursday, May 28, 2026.
Born May 25, 1934 in Medina, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Martha (Hoffman) Levanduski. Reta was a graduate of Medina High School, Class of 1952 and furthered her education at R.I.T. She married the late Raymond A. Potrubacz. The couple were lifelong residents of Medina, where they raised a family of three children. Reta worked as an administrative secretary for the Medina Central School District for many years, lastly in the transportation department. A devout Catholic, Reta was a longtime parishioner of the former Sacred Heart of Jesus R.C. Church in Medina, where she served on the Rosary Society. She then became a parishioner of Holy Trinity, St. Mary’s Church until recent. Reta was an accomplished oil painter. She enjoyed teaching ceramic classes at the Senior Citizen’s Center and also did calligraphy. She also enjoyed going to the casino and especially loved gardening.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Raymond in 1997; son, Michael Potrubacz in 2020; siblings, Helen Levanduski, Dorothy (Joseph) Balcerzak, Theresa (Raymond) Kujawa, Charles (Elsie) Hill, Thomas (Mickey) Levanduski, Walter (Elsie) Levanduski and Edward Levanduski; niece, Kathy Kelly; and great-nephew, Zachary Kujawa.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, David Potrubacz; daughter, Judith Jopson; daughter-in-law, Jane Potrubacz; grandchildren, Jay Gonzalez and Jacob Gonzalez; great-grandchildren, Michaela Potrubacz, Noah Gonzalez, Cameron Gonzalez and David (Amber) Cira; and many nieces and nephews, including Joseph (Barbara) Kujawa and Diane (late Dan) Gilhooly; nephew in-law, Michael Kelly; and great-niece and nephew, Danielle and Alex Kujawa.
The Rosary will be said prior to the start of calling hours on Friday, June 5, Rosary at 3:30PM, calling from 4:00-7:00PM at Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 6 at 10:00AM at Holy Trinity Parish, St. Mary’s Church, 211 Eagle St., Medina. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
