Richard M. Bensley

(Medina) Richard M. “Beans” Bensley age 82, passed away January 25, 2026, at Medina Memorial Hospital following a short illness. He was born August 20, 1943, in Medina, a son of the late Raymond and Cecelia (Grabowski) Bensley and had lived in this area all of his life.

Dick was a proud US Marine and served during Vietnam. He was a member of VFW Post #1483 of Medina. He drove truck for Lapp Express and after their closing, drove for Consolidated Freightway in Middleport. Dick was an avid golfer where he had a membership at Shelridge Country Club. He enjoyed going to the casino, watching Westerns and sports, especially the Buffalo Bills, Buffalo Sabres and the NY Yankees.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings Ronald Bensley, Linda Lake, Raymond Bensley, Jr. and the mother of his daughter Noreen Greenman.

He is survived by his daughter Pamela (Michael) Bronschidle; grandson Zechariah Hughes; sister RaeLynn (Richard Course) Bensley as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends at the Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St. Medina, Sunday February 1st 1:00pm-3:00pm where his Funeral Service will be held at 3:00pm. His burial with Military Honors will be held Monday at 1:00pm at the Western NY National Cemetery, 1254 Indian Falls Rd. Corfu NY 14036. Memorials may be made to a local Veterans Service of your choice.
