Richard R. Metcalf, age 89, passed away December 28, 2025 in the Orchard Rehabilitation and Nursing Center following a long illness. He was born August 17, 1936 in Lockport to Russell and Eva Metcalf and grew up in the Johnson Creek area.

Richard was a United States Navy Veteran of the Korean War, and ran the family farm for the majority of his earlier years. He also worked at Harrison Radiator and Lyndonville Vinegar as a maintenance mechanic. Richard was a former communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Lyndonville and was an outdoor enthusiast. He was an adventurer who loved to travel, enjoyed camping, canoeing and boating and also was involved with the Boy Scouts of America as a Scout Master. Mr. Metcalf was predeceased by a sister: Ellen.

He is survived by two sons: Jay (Michelle) Metcalf, David (Rhonda) Metcalf, a daughter: Cynthia (Bob) Clark, a sister: Linda, 6 grandchildren as a well as several nieces and nephews.

There will be no calling hours. A Graveside Service will be held at the Western New York National Cemetery at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Scouting America, Greater Niagara Frontier Council #380, 2860 Genesee St., Buffalo, NY, 14225. Richard's arrangements are in the care of Cooper Funeral Home, 215 West Center St., Medina, NY.
