Terry L. Weaver, 62, of Lakeland, FL and Medina, NY, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, November 2, 2026.
Born June 17, 1964 in Batavia, he was the son of the late Earl G. Weaver, Sr. and Joan (McAdoo) Brown. A lifelong civil servant, Terry enlisted in the U.S. Air Force shortly after graduating from Lakeland Sr. High School in Florida, Class of 1982. He then entered law enforcement working in Florida for the Polk County Sheriff’s Department, Florida Department of Corrections, Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Department and Florida Department of Juvenile Justice. In 1998 he moved from Lakeland to Medina and began working for the Orleans County Sheriff’s Department.
Terry enjoyed sports and genealogy. He traced the Weaver bloodline back to the 11th century. Notables included Clement Weaver from Glastonbury, England who came to Boston, MA around 1630 and William Weaver born 1742 who fought in the Revolutionary War. William sailed in the fleet of John Paul Jones before being captured by the British, succumbing to smallpox on a British Prison Ship.
In addition to both of his parents, he was predeceased by a sister-in-law, Becky Weaver.
Terry is survived by four brothers, Earl G. (MJ) Weaver, Jr. of Myrtle Beach, SC, Dave (Jill) Brown of Lakeland, FL, Mark Brown of Myrtle Beach, SC and Shane Brown of Lockport; five sisters, Debra (David Martin) Regan of Medina, Kim Lockwood of Parrish, FL, Penny Brown of Warsaw, Vicki (Robert) Cushman of Grinnell, IA and Angela Howey of MS.
