Virginia A. Messore, 75, of Medina passed away peacefully in her home with her loving family at her side on March 26, 2018.
Born on Feb. 11, 1943 to the late Elmer and Mildred (Bruning) Leffler.
Ginny grew up in W. Shelby and spent her married life in Medina. She worked at Towne Elementary as an office secretary for 20 years. She attended the First Presbyterian Church in Medina. Throughout her years as a member, she taught Sunday School and served as an elder or a deacon. She also served as past president and secretary of the Presbyterian Women. She was known for her rice pudding that she made for church events and shut- ins and all the baked goods she shared with friends and family. She served as secretary of MAAC. She was also a member of the Laurel Twig and volunteered at the hospital gift shop for many years.
Virginia and her husband visited over 50 bed and breakfasts through the years. She loved bowling with the senior league. She loved her family and gatherings, especially having the grandkids for sleepovers in the summer. She and her husband enjoyed getting together with her brother, sister and their spouses Thursday mornings and going for coffee at Tops with her friends. She was a light to all her family, friends, and everyone she met.
She was a devoted wife of 53 years to Frank E. Messore; loving mother of Nancy (Jon) Himes, Kevin (Cristina) Messore, Paul (Karen) Messore, and Joel (Kristeen) Messore; grandmother of Tyler, Samantha, Ryan (Gina), Danielle, Chelsea, Chloe, Amber, and Morgan; sister of Steve (Bette) Leffler, Linda (Don) Mietz, Tim (Tina) Leffler; sister-in-law of the late Kathryn Garrett; aunt to Mike Leffler, Michelle Leffler, Amy (Archie) Washak, Darcy(Ed) Kaminski, Heidi (Mike)Kuhmann, Molly(Steve) McIntyre, Jane(Chris) Harding, Brian (Jessi) Brienzi, Brittany Leffler, and Brian (Christine) Garrett.
Friends may call on Fri., April 6 (4-7) at Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina.
Memorial service will be held on Sat., April 7 at 11 AM at the First Presbyterian Church, 522 S. Main St., Medina. A memorial luncheon will be held at the church following the service.
