Wayne R. Barton

Mr. Wayne R. Barton, of Medina, passed away on February 23, 2016 at the VA WNY Healthcare Center in Buffalo. Mr. Barton was born in Beeville, TX, September 29, 1948 and grew up in West Falls. He proudly served with the United Sates Marine Corps in Vietnam from 1966-68. He earned three Purple Hearts during service to our country. Following his discharge, he resided in Rochester and in 1990 moved to Lyndonville. He resided in Medina for last few years before entering the VA WNY Medical Center in Batavia. Wayne enjoyed coffee at the Country Club Restaurant, fishing and was a Buffalo Bills fan. He was a member of Marine Corps League and the Purple Heart Association. Survivors include his children, Wayne (Christy) Barton, II of Honeoye falls, Spring Cerza of Syracuse, Charles (Jackie) Barton of Middleport and Richard Barton of Medina; 3 grandchildren, Amber Gartley, Britni Gartley and Amelia Barton, and his former wife, Judy Kleisley. Friends may call on Thursday, March 3, 2016 from 3-4 PM at the Cooper Funeral Home, 215 West Center Street, Medina. Memories will be shared at 4PM followed by military honors auspices of Butts-Clark Post #204, American Legion and Lincoln Post #1483, VFW. Interment will be in Bath National Cemetery.
